Pacoima is a lovely community in the Northwestern region of the San Fernando Valley. Bordered by the 210 and I-5 freeways, this town is situated in between San Fernando and Lake View Terrace and has grown in size due to the local industries that attract workers to the San Fernando Valley. Many residents of Pacoima worked at former plants owned by industry moguls General Motors and Lockheed. Other huge companies also call Pacoima home, such as Natural Balance Pet Foods and the apparel company Juicy Couture. The city of Pacoima offers a multitude of parks and recreation facilities, to its residents, including the David M. Gonzales Recreation Center and Ritchie Valens Park. These parks both have outdoor sports courts, jogging trails, picnic tables and anything else to satisfy your desire to enjoy the outdoors. The Hansen Dam Municipal Golf Course and Recreation Area are also a popular attraction. When the dam holds sufficient water, a lake is available for kayaking, sail boating, and fishing; in the summer the lake is used for swimming. There are also walking trails available that link to those that explore the nearby Angeles National Forest. Finding delicious food in Pacoima is no problem, boasting restaurants such as Wendill's Thai and Restaurant Maria. Because Pacoima is located near 3 large freeways (the 118, the 210, and the I-5) traveling around Los Angeles is no problem at all.
