Located in the northwest part of the San Fernando Valley, Northridge is a tranquil suburb which includes affluent areas such as Porter Ranch, along with multiple gated communities and large ranch-style homes. Since it is located towards the edge of the Valley, the community is partially bordered by the Santa Susana Mountains, allowing Northridge to boast beautiful parks and hiking trails such as Limekin Canyon Trail, Aliso Canyon Park, Northridge Park/Recreation Center, and Porter Ridge Park (commonly referred to as "E.T. Park" by locals after the iconic movie E.T. was filmed there). The area has recently been under vast improvement, with two new schools added within the past ten years(Northridge Academy High School and Porter Ranch Community School), and many areas such as the Northridge Mall have undergone renovations, adding in high-class restaurants such as The Yardhouse and Elephant Bar. Northridge is granted easy access throughout Los Angeles thanks to the Ronald Reagan Freeway (State Route 118), which runs between Northridge and Porter Ranch. Also home to the California State University of Northridge. You will find estate neighborhoods such as Sherwood Forest, with large lots, Running Springs Estates, Buckingham Estates, RidgeGate, Devonshire Highlands and many more wonderful sections of the community. The area has three zip codes 91324, 91325 and 91326 (Porter Ranch Area).
