Christa Farrell was born and raised in Southern California where her love of architecture and design began in her childhood home, a California Modern Eichler home in Granada Hills. Her family also owned a beach condominium in Port Hueneme with an L-shaped patio and an amazing ocean view. The two homes were inspiring to Christa and forever influenced her love of design. The beach condominium taught her the concept of bringing the outdoors inside and the Mid-Century Modern house, with its walls of glass and sweeping atriums, piqued her interest in functionality, architecture, style and interior design.
At Cal State University Northridge she majored in Business/Interior Design and was preparing for her senior year and then the professional world, when she received devastating news -- she was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma and had to start chemotherapy immediately. Her doctors wanted her to put college on hold as she went through the six cycles of chemotherapy and extensive radiation treatment, but Christa chose to make school her primary focus and remained steadfast in her studies. Several months later, the cancer went into remission and Christa graduated on time. The story of Christa’s dedication to her studies in spite of her illness was inspirational to the student body and she was honored during the graduation ceremony for her perseverance.
With cancer behind her, Christa immersed herself in the residential and hospitality interior design field for several years. She married her high school sweetheart, Jason Farrell in 1998 and began to plan her own interior design business only to have to put it on hold with the birth of her first son, Chase. Never sure if she could have children after the severities of chemotherapy, Christa immersed herself in motherhood while helping Jason with his growing appraisal business. As she prepared to return to the workforce, her second son, Lane was born and she realized she would need to work from home. Taking a position as Corporate Secretary for Crestline Appraisals, she managed accounting and payroll for a large staff and coordinated the day-to-day valuation of over 2,000 appraisals per year.
As the economy shifted so too did Christa and Jason. Jason joined Pinnacle Estate Properties as a Realtor while Christa work along side as his assistant. They soon welcomed their third son, Reid. Despite the joys and rigors of motherhood, Christa was able to equalize both work and home with a loving balance.
As the boys grew, Christa did as well, becoming a licensed Realtor in 2011 then collaborating with her husband to become a team of top producing realtors. Their combined years of experience and success moved them up to the Pinnacle Gold Club and then the Pinnacle Platinum Club. Buyers and sellers alike have commented on Jason’s expertise in value and Christa’s fine attention to detail in every step of the buying and selling process as key factors in making this husband and wife a great sales team.
Christa credits her surviving cancer for giving her a positive perspective on life. Her unbridled energy and compassion comforts friends and associates, allowing them to put their faith in her personal and professional advice.
Christa’s passion for interior design and architecture compliment her as a Realtor helping her to work closely and passionately in aiding sellers to stage their homes in order to achieve top sales prices. Her daily emails and follow up keep her sellers informed and comforted that Christa and Jason are working hard on their behalf. On the buyer’s side, Christa’s keen eye for layout, design and functionality has been paramount in helping families find their perfect dream home. Christa is proactive in previewing new listings based on their clients’ needs saving them precious time in the buying process.
When Christa is not selling homes, she enjoys being with her family at her son’s many sporting activities, school events and music recitals. Despite a hectic schedule, she maintains her healthy lifestyle by making time for yoga and Pilates.
